Tesla has revealed that it will be raising the prices of its Model Y SUV in several European countries, marking the latest price hike for the economy-level vehicle.

Tesla announced on last Saturday that the price of the Model Y will be raised in European countries starting on Friday, March 22. The company’s Europe and Middle East account posted the news on X, stating that the price increase will be approximately €2,000 (~$2,180) or the equivalent in local currencies.

As the first quarter of the year comes to an end this month, it has been reported that Tesla has implemented price increases in Germany and Norway for all three configurations of the Model Y. The Model Y has been a top seller in the European market, earning the top-selling vehicle spot overall on the continent last year and recently becoming the top-selling vehicle in Germany for the month of February.

Tesla has encountered challenges at its Gigafactory near Berlin, where the Model Y is manufactured for the European market. Recently, activists deliberately set a fire at the Grünheide plant, resulting in a temporary halt in production. However, the Gigafactory has since resumed operations and received a visit from CEO Elon Musk, who offered words of encouragement in response to the incident.
